Hansa Coke Dry Quenching Plant demolished
Demolition of Hansa Coke's Coke Dry Quenching Plant (Kokstrockenkühlung) took place July 14, 2005 at 14:30. I introduced you to this special plant back in last October. With just 23 years of age, chances for preservation were zero. Hansa Coke's CDQ was a pilot plant with full production use. Due to its limited technological complexity, you could actually see how it worked when looking at it. There is no other plant of this kind in Germany similarly suited for preservation.
