Permission to land

Now that I crashed my last car I took quite some time to come up with a good solution for its successor. As the prolonged used of public transportation is way too much Real Life (TM) for my taste, that one new BMW seemed to be a good offer. Then, someone came up with another option. After just a quick look, I went for it. It is the 14.28 € option. 14.28 € buy you a box of Coke.
So I traded this box of Coke for a car that is completely incompatible with my needs. I do a lot of city trips: Frankfurt, Frankfurt Airport, Stuttgart, Bremen, sometimes Hamburg, Berlin, Vienna. Frankfurt for an evening? A spontaneous nightly photo shooting on the other side of the Ruhr Area? Some country road curves for Sunday's breakfast? Here we go. Can't do that with the new car. The new car has roughly the size of a shoe box, its engine roughly the power of my old starting motor. It doesn't even sound like an engine. I wouldn't spend a single buck for a new car of this make (Guess you wouldn't either if you had some insight into that company. It has a mostly boring customership, too). It is 23 years (but just 100,000 km) old, painted in Psychedelic Orange and comes with seats in black and white checked pattern - but riding it puts such a big grin on my face as no other car did for a while. It is a 1980 VW Polo I. It is not retro, it is the original. It has permission to land.
