The Sound of Silence
The Concorde supersonic jet, the ultimate Boy's Toy this side of military aviation, is finally set for retirement. At the end of October, both Air France and British Airways will cease to operate the 2.2 mach bird. I'd love to write more about this, but as time does not permit, just some links to other sites:

:: Never flown Concorde? A return flight from London to New York is £8,230. As part of the Supersonic Celebration - Once in a Lifetime campaign, "1000 seats at special fares [went] on sale in the UK from 10 April for just one week, for travel until the end of August." Prices range from £1,999 to £3,999.
