Pentagon threatens to kill independent reporters in Iraq

    GuluFuture.com: "The Pentagon has threatened to fire on the satellite uplink positions of independent journalists in Iraq, according to veteran BBC war correspondent, Kate Adie. In an interview with Irish radio, Ms. Adie said that questioned about the consequences of such potentially fatal actions, a senior Pentagon officer had said: 'Who cares.. ..They've been warned.'"   • U.S. COURT GIVES GREEN LIGHT TO IMPRISON FOREIGNERS WITHOUT CHARGE AND WITHOUT ACCESS TO LEGAL COUNSEL
    As BBC News reports, the U.S. Courts of Appeals in Washington, D.C. ruled "that prisoners held at a US military base in Cuba do not have the right to hearings in American courts." Horst Prillinger: "They may be terrorists, or they may be perfectly innocent citizens. But it doesn't really matter, because even though they're still alive, they don't legally exist any longer. [...] In the USSR, they called this the Gulag."
