Not too much time recently to blog, but before my Blog This Folder gets too crowded, here another quick news roundup:
MOVABLE TYPE
- The new rayners.org MTEntry Plugin adds a container tag that takes the ID of an arbitrary blog entry as argument and then prints the selected fields of this entry whereever you want it on your page. This can be handy for notices that should appear on top of your blog even when there are newer postings, or can also serve as an elegant method to include headers or sidebars (currently, my sidebar is a MT handled file that gets PHP included). As the maker of emptypages.org points out, of course you can also use the MTSQL Plugin to show a specific entry.
- Also under development at rayners.org, your number one source for cool MT plugins: a Movable Type Plugin Manager/Installer. A first glimpse looks promising, and once done, this thing will truly rock and should become part of a next MT release.
- Tongfamily started to develop a E-Mail to Blog plugin for Movable Type, and the planned features list looks pretty much complete.
- Trackback and all that jazz: Ben Hammersley has an overview of Trackback related technologies plus an update. At rayners.org, futhers explanations on Post-It and ComeBack.
