Back in 1972, back for the Munich Olympics, Otl Aicher not only created an excellent visual identity, but also a pictogram system for sports, transportation, and emergency installations - recognized and used until this day. This won't happen again. Smileys bored people to death yet 10 years ago. WM 2006 visuals, driven by Powerpoint Corel Draw boredom.
