Knoppix on Harddisk

Knoppix is a fully functional and usable Linux system running completely from a single bootable CD without requiring a hard disc or hard disc access due to on-the-fly decompression. For even more fun, David McNab released a Knoppix Harddisk Installation HOWTO: all you need is your Knoppix CD and a dedicated partition with 3 GB or more space available. Not only will Knoppix be permanently available on your system, it will also run much faster than from CD ROM. However, as it installs a boot loader, it might not be 100% failsafe as the bootable CD ROM version is.
